Claude TikTok Guide: How to Connect Claude to TikTok

Claude TikTok workflows start with one missing piece: Claude can’t reach your TikTok account on its own. Add one connector and it can design a short vertical video, save it as a TikTok draft, and post it when you approve. Setup takes about 2 minutes and needs no TikTok developer account.
I’m Anton, founder of PostHero. I built our Claude connector, and making short videos with Claude is the part of it I’ve spent the most time on. This guide covers the setup, what Claude can do on TikTok, TikTok’s own rules for apps that post for you, how the options compare, and prompts you can copy.
How to connect Claude to TikTok
One connector for 8 platforms. Set it up once, and Claude can work on your TikTok from any chat.
- Videos and photo posts
- Send to TikTok drafts
- Scheduling
- Analytics
Step 1: Connect your TikTok account
Create a PostHero account and connect your TikTok account. TikTok asks you to approve access on its own screen, so Claude never sees your password.

Step 2: Add the connector in Claude
In Claude, open Customize > Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it PostHero, paste the URL and click Continue.

Then keep the defaults (“Sign in now”, “Register automatically”) and click Add.

Step 3: Sign in and allow access
Sign in to PostHero with the same account you used in step 1 and click Allow.

Step 4: Turn it on and test it
In a new chat, turn PostHero on under + > Connectors and ask:

What you need for TikTok specifically
- A TikTok account. You link it to PostHero on TikTok’s own authorization screen, so Claude never sees your password.
- No developer app. PostHero’s TikTok app is verified by TikTok, which matters more than it sounds (see the rules section): posts from unverified apps only go out as private.
- Any Claude plan. The Free plan allows one custom connector, and that’s all this needs.
- A video or images for every post. TikTok has no text-only posts through the API. Claude can make the video for you, or you can upload your own file to your PostHero media library and tell Claude to use it.
Several TikTok accounts? Connect each one and tell Claude which to use. The same connector also covers seven other platforms, so one chat can run all of them: here’s how to connect Claude to all your social media.
Can Claude post to TikTok?
Yes, with a connector. Out of the box Claude can only write a caption or a script for you to copy. Connected to PostHero, it can save a TikTok post as a draft, schedule it, send it to your TikTok inbox to finish in the app, or publish it after you confirm. It can also make the video itself.
What Claude can do on TikTok through PostHero:
- Video posts with captions up to 2,200 characters.
- Photo posts of up to 35 images, with TikTok’s auto-added music if you want it.
- Short vertical videos made in the chat. Claude designs every scene, PostHero renders the video, and it lands in your media library ready to post.
- Who can see it: everyone, followers, mutual friends, or only you.
- Comments, Duet and Stitch switched on or off per post.
- Inbox drafts. Instead of posting, Claude sends the video to your TikTok app inbox, so you can add a sound or tweak it in TikTok before it goes live.
- Scheduling for any date and time you give.
- Analytics: views, likes, comments, shares and followers for a period, and your top posts ranked by the metric you choose.
What it can’t do yet: read or reply to TikTok comments, search viral TikToks, or track TikTok competitors. The viral library and competitor tracking cover Instagram for now. It’s organic only too, so no TikTok Ads.

From a Claude-made video to TikTok
This is the part no other Claude TikTok guide covers, because every other tool assumes your video already exists. With PostHero, the video comes out of the same chat.
It works in three steps:
- Claude designs the video. You describe the idea, Claude writes a storyboard scene by scene and shows it to you. You can add background music and a voiceover before it renders.
- PostHero renders it. About a minute later you have a short vertical video in your media library. PostHero doesn’t design anything: it renders exactly what Claude designed and you approved. Most other tools do the design inside their own editor; here the chat is the editor.
- Claude posts it to TikTok. The same file becomes a TikTok draft with a caption written for TikTok, not pasted from Instagram. The same video can also go out as an Instagram reel and a YouTube Short, each with its own caption.
Talking-head videos work differently: Claude can’t film you. It can write the filming script (hook, beats, on-screen text, B-roll ideas) and attach it to the draft, so it’s waiting for you when you pick up the phone.

What I learned making videos with Claude
My first videos made with Claude were quite bad. Not broken, just forgettable. What fixed them was studying creators whose videos actually get watched, and those lessons went back into how the connector renders.
The biggest jump came from copying structure, not content. On Instagram, I had Claude break down a competitor’s viral reel scene by scene, then build mine on that skeleton. It got 719 views against my usual 64, about 11x. You can run the same breakdown on any TikTok you can describe to Claude.
A few other things I’d tell anyone starting:
- Basic prompts give basic videos. “Make a TikTok about my niche” is where most bad results come from. Give Claude a specific idea, a structure that already works, or a real thing that happened to you.
- Use Claude as an idea bank. Claude knows a lot of my context from my tools and past chats. When I’m stuck, I ask what to make, and it suggests things from my own week, like a struggle with a client from a recent call. That’s more TikTok-shaped than any “top 10 tips” idea.
- Don’t port posts from other platforms. A LinkedIn post turned into on-screen text is still a LinkedIn post. It’s too polished and too expert for TikTok, where people scroll past anything that looks like an ad.
- Expect a few attempts. Good videos take several rounds. That’s a skill you build, not a sign the tool doesn’t work.
My standing instruction is one line: write in TikTok’s casual style and don’t pitch anything.
For anything going to TikTok: keep it casual and native, like a creator talking, not a brand. No pitch, no “link in bio”, no corporate words. On-screen text should be short enough to read in a second. Show me everything before you save it.
TikTok rules worth knowing
TikTok has its own content sharing guidelines for apps that post on your behalf. A few of them shape how a Claude TikTok workflow should run.
Use a verified app, or your posts stay private. TikTok restricts everything posted through an unaudited app to private viewing. Some DIY and self-hosted setups hit this and only find out when nobody sees the video. PostHero’s app has passed TikTok’s audit, so your privacy setting is the one that applies.
Post original content. TikTok wants these apps to help creators post their own work and explicitly rules out copying arbitrary content from other platforms. A video you made with Claude is yours. Reposting someone else’s viral video is not. And when you reuse your own Instagram reel, post the clean file from your media library rather than a download with another app’s watermark on it.
You see it and say yes before it uploads. TikTok expects a preview and your clear consent before anything is sent. That’s how PostHero already works: everything Claude makes starts as a draft, it schedules only when you give a time, and it publishes now only when you say so and confirm once more.
Promoting a brand? Finish in the app. TikTok asks you to disclose content that promotes a brand, product or service. For those posts, have Claude send the video to your TikTok inbox and set the disclosure in the TikTok app before posting.
Daily caps exist. TikTok limits how many posts a creator can make through apps each day, typically around 15, shared across every app you use. Plenty for a person, but don’t plan to bulk-post a month of backlog in one afternoon.
New posts can take a few minutes to process before they show on your profile. If a video isn’t there right away, give it a moment.
Claude TikTok connectors, compared
There’s no built-in TikTok connector in Claude, so every option is a third-party tool or something you build. Most can publish. The real difference is whether they help you make the video.
| Option | Makes the video | Posts organic TikToks | Stands out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostHero | ✅ Claude designs, PostHero renders | ✅ Draft first | Video made and posted from one chat, 8 platforms |
| PostFast | ❌ Bring your own | ✅ Yes | TikTok drafts, comment replies |
| Blotato | ❌ Bring your own | ✅ Yes | Publishing to many networks |
| Markifact | ❌ Bring your own | ✅ With approval | Organic plus a separate TikTok Ads connector |
| Socialync | ❌ Bring your own | ✅ Scheduled | MCP on the free plan |
| Composio | ❌ Bring your own | ✅ Yes | Developer toolkit, many frameworks |
| TikTok’s own MCP server | ❌ No | ❌ Ads only | Managing TikTok ad campaigns |
Based on each vendor’s own pages, checked 4 November 2026.
The honest version:
- Pick PostFast, Blotato or Socialync if your videos are already edited in CapCut or elsewhere and you just want Claude to publish them.
- Pick Markifact or TikTok’s own server if you mainly run TikTok ads.
- Pick Composio if you’re a developer wiring TikTok into your own agent.
- Pick PostHero if you don’t have the video yet and want Claude to make it, then post it to TikTok and your other platforms from the same chat. That’s the gap I built it for.

Find ideas in your own week
From what we’ve talked about lately, give me 5 ideas for short TikTok videos. Each should come from something that really happened to me, with a hook I could say or show in the first 2 seconds. One line each.
Make the video
Design a 20-second vertical video for TikTok about [idea]. Show me the storyboard scene by scene first, with the on-screen text for each. Suggest background music, and only render it with PostHero after I say yes.
Here’s a TikTok that did well in my niche: [describe it or paste the transcript]. Break down why it works scene by scene, then design my own video on the same structure about [my topic]. Don’t copy its words.
Post it to TikTok
Save the video we just made as a TikTok draft for [account]. Write a short casual caption with up to 3 hashtags, public, comments on, Duet and Stitch off. Show me the caption first.
Send this video to my TikTok inbox instead of posting it, so I can add a sound in the TikTok app before it goes live.
Use the same video for TikTok, an Instagram reel and a YouTube Short. Write each one its own caption for that platform, and give the Short a title. Save all three as drafts.
Photo posts
Design a 6-slide vertical carousel about [topic] and show me the plan first. Once it’s rendered, save the slides as a TikTok photo post draft with auto-added music.
Check what’s working
Show me my top 5 TikTok posts from the last 30 days by views. What do the best ones have in common, and what should my next 3 videos be?
Using ChatGPT instead?
It works there as well. PostHero’s connector is built on MCP, the open standard ChatGPT also uses for connectors, so you add the same address (https://mcp.posthero.ai/mcp) as a custom connector in ChatGPT and sign in to PostHero. You get the same TikTok accounts, drafts, videos and numbers. The prompts above work as they are, and the “casual, no pitch” instruction matters just as much: left alone, ChatGPT writes captions that read like ads too. Why I made PostHero work with any AI agent is in PostHero goes agentic.
Why isn’t Claude posting to TikTok?
- The connector is off in this chat. Connectors are switched on per conversation. Click +, open Connectors and turn PostHero on.
- Claude can’t find your TikTok account. You’re probably signed in to a different PostHero account than the one where you linked TikTok. Sign out of the connector and back in with the right one.
- The draft saved but won’t publish. TikTok posts need a video or images. A caption on its own won’t go out. Claude sees the same warning and can fix it.
- Your video won’t attach. Claude can’t pass files from the chat to PostHero. Upload the video to your PostHero media library, then tell Claude to use it.
- It posted but isn’t on your profile. TikTok can take a few minutes to process a new post. Check again shortly.
FAQ
Can Claude post to TikTok on its own?
No. Claude has no built-in access to TikTok. It needs a connector like PostHero to save, schedule or publish posts.
Can Claude make TikTok videos?
Yes. Claude designs short vertical videos scene by scene, and PostHero renders them, with optional music and voiceover. For videos you film yourself, Claude writes the script and attaches it to the draft.
Will Claude post to TikTok without asking me?
No. Everything starts as a draft. Publishing needs your go-ahead plus one confirmation, and you can always send a video to your TikTok inbox to finish in the app instead.
Is it free to connect Claude to TikTok?
On Claude’s side, yes: the Free plan includes one custom connector. PostHero has a 7-day free trial, so you can test the whole workflow first.
Can Claude manage TikTok ads?
Not through PostHero, which covers organic posts only. For ads, look at TikTok’s own MCP server or an ads-focused tool from the table above.
Does it work with my other platforms?
Yes. The same connector covers LinkedIn, X, Threads, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Bluesky. The guide to connecting Claude to social media covers each platform, the Instagram guide goes deeper on reels and carousels, and the X guide covers posts and threads.
